Productivity and innovation play an outsized role in sustaining and increasing Canadian’s standards of living. Excellence in engineering is a key contributor to improving productivity and driving innovation. In Canada we are often concerned that we are falling behind in multi-factor productivity, particularly with respect to our largest trading partner, the United States.
Whether we are providing an engineering perspective on climate change, the built environment, our energy future, and much more, the Academy is mindful of the opportunities and challenges for improving productivity and innovation performance.
The CAE will actively address issues related to Canada’s productivity and global economic competitiveness in a rapidly changing world including economic inclusivity and the development of skills for success in the 21st Century.
