CAE News for the weeks of the 28 May and 4 June

On a weekly basis, the CAE compiles news of interest to the organization and its members, and makes it publicly available on our website. The CAE works to highlight emerging issues in which engineering has a role as well as promote recognition of engineering excellence and innovation.

Board Appointment

 Professor John Luxat, FCAE, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of Terrestrial Energy, a developer of advanced nuclear power plants that use its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) technology. For more information, click here.

Honorary Degree

Congratulations to Indira Samarasekera, FCAE, former President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Alberta and former Vice-Prisident (Research) at the University of British Columbia, who was awarded an honorary degree from Queen’s University. For more information, click here.

OPEA Award

John Bandler, OC, FCAE, has won the 2018 OPEA Gold Medal, the premier award of the association. According to the program: “it recognizes conscientious commitment to public service, technical excellence and outstanding professional leadership.” For more information, click here.

University of Calgary Honours CAE Fellows
